Modern C++ API design for Embedded Systems: lessons learned Video

C is still the leading language for low-level system programming and hence C++ as the logical extension of C for object-oriented programming is still the language of choice, in particular in resource constrained environments, where language mappers and additional runtime code would be prohibitive expensive. While old-school C++ is commonly known to be as risky to use as juggling with chain-saws, modern C++ opened new doors for creating safe and sound APIs that are high-level and fun to use and do not need to shy away in its expressiveness from C# or Python programming APIs. The author will present his lessons learned and will try to give an outlook for the future of C++ in the Embedded world.
